Oracle is a stable, profitable company with a good brand and reputation. The company offers an excellent benefits package and fair compensation. Many office locations with a global presence and customers worldwide provide ample opportunities to travel. A diverse set of product lines in many business units provide many opportunities to move to different areas of interest, although employees are required to stay with a job for at least a year.
Promotions to leadership positions tend to be bestowed upon those with the best social networks, and not necessarily the most skilled individuals. Most employees do not receive bonuses, stock, or stock option compensation for good performance. Oracle's size and market capitalization leave little room for outsized growth.
We need better recognition that innovation and results arise bottom-up, not top-down through command and control style planning and management.
I thought the interview was scheduled, but when I went there, it looked more like a walk-in. Lots of people were being interviewed. They asked very simple questions. I was able to answer those pretty well, and then they said I could leave for the day
Phone interview, followed by onsite. The interviewers appeared to have varying knowledge levels; this was especially apparent when they gave their questions.
This was arguably the worst interview I have ever attended. I applied through LinkedIn and received a call from a recruiter. The recruiter wanted to schedule my first interview round. I specifically asked if I would be questioned on Data Structures
