Software Developer (Entry Level) Interview Experience - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

October 1, 2022
Positive ExperienceNo Offer

Process

It was a virtual interview.

After I applied to the position online, I received a HackerRank link with 15 questions related to OOPs and Java, which took 30-45 minutes.

Then, I received a call from the recruiter. We went over my background, and the recruiter talked about the company and its benefits. They also discussed the next interview steps (screening).

Next, I had a call with one of the senior developers. They asked questions related to OOPs and gave a coding question, which was required to be solved on the HackerRank platform. It was an easy question related to HashSet.

Then, there was a final round with the Hiring Manager. It was mostly behavioral. They asked me about my future goals and my ideal project to work on if given an opportunity.

Later, they asked me to come to their tech night event, which was great. They provided excellent accommodations and a campus tour.

After months, I received a rejection.

One thing I would suggest for management is that if they are inviting candidates to a tech event with such great services, anyone would think they would extend an offer letter, especially since the final round interview was completed. It was so disappointing to receive a rejection after such a smooth process.
