Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

Google Hangout, and then the interviewer sent me an email with two text files containing the prompt and data. The process was a bit unorganized: after we got on Google Hangout, he asked me to screenshare for the coding challenge and then to look at the email and complete the prompt in my own environment. This caught me off guard. Usually, interviews provide a CodePen or other online tools to work through problems, but now I had to download and set up my local dev environment, which took a few minutes as I was not prepared for it. Had he told me earlier, I could have prepared better.

In any case, I finished both prompts in time. Then, I received the rejection letter the next day without any explanation. It was a waste of time and an unpleasant experience.
