Firstly, I had a recruiter call which went on for around 15 minutes. I was asked basic questions around my profile, salary expectations, comfort with the location, and work authorization.
Few days later, they arranged a technical interview, which went well. I was told that the interview result would be shared by next week.
Next day, I received a mail that the interview was good and they wanted to know my work authorization again. After telling them my work authorization, I received a rejection mail few days later.
When I shared my displeasure on this, they said that this team does not have the budget to sponsor. If that was the case, then why was my technical interview arranged?
I had said this in my recruiter call as well as in my technical call that I am an international student and currently on OPT, so why make it a problem later.
I worked hard for the interview thinking that sponsorship wouldn't be a problem for them if they came so far. Didn't expect this from a company like Prudential.
