Pros: Smart people (conversations flow easily) Great product, selling quickly High investment (time, money) in the tooling needed to make engineering run smoothly (automated testing, modern compilers, Git, etc.) Good amount of autonomy - management has a light hand - without chaos: * Few meetings: 1 stand-up per day, 1 team meeting / 2 weeks, all hands every week Management is open with employees about company direction/status - speaks plainly (e.g., review board deck every month)

Cons: - Gain weight because of all the free food.

Pros: solid engineering expertise adequate compensation friendly coworkers

Cons: Probably the worst office in the whole software engineering industry. I just don't see how things can be any worse. Open floor with desks set as densely as physically possible; engineering and non-engineering staff mixed together. Everybody is walking around, talking with each other or on the phone. The necessity of keeping noise and distractions down does not seem to cross anyone's mind. Yet the office attendance is mandatory. Every day is stress and loss of productivity.

Pros: Growth is one word that often follows this company, but the company has many other aspects that make it a good workplace. I think most important decisions are widely shared and discussed openly. The company has superb early engineers, which has influenced engineers hired afterwards.

Cons: Could this company retain its top talent? The company seems to try hard to retain them, and I just wish them to be successful because I am a relatively new hire. Also, assigning new engineers to the right positions with appropriate compensation would be critical for the continued success of the company.
