Overall, I love it here
Senior Staff Engineer/Manager • Current Employee
San Diego, California, United States
October 20, 2014
Pros: Qualcomm in general has a strong culture and genuinely seems to care about its employees. They provide a lot of opportunities for development and good compensation, especially for strong performers.
Cons: Perhaps this is typical of large companies, but they need to look at trimming the fat in mid-management levels. There are too many people with minimal contributions who have their position merely because of seniority and playing political games. On the positive side, it seems like efforts are being made in this area.

Good, solid company
Staff Software Engineer • Former Employee
San Diego, California, United States
April 27, 2017
Pros: Qualcomm really values its engineers and tries to keep them happy. Even when upper management makes decisions that might not be the best for the engineers, the lower managers do their best to argue for the engineers.
Cons: The company is growing and slowly turning into another corporate behemoth, with all the things that come along with that: less care for individual employees, more focus on profits and less on products, and slower reactions to the market or to changing workplace conditions.
