I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn and started the selection process. We scheduled a call in English. Basically, the recruiter spoke faster than any soap opera, movie, or YouTube video you might watch in English. It felt like a trial by fire. Even so, I managed to understand the questions. Because I've been taking English classes for over 3 years, I was able to manage. Some very random questions were asked, as simply reading my resume would have allowed them to be answered.
What is ACID? If I had already worked with multithreads, how much Java experience did I have (it's on the resume :)), if I had already worked without the Spring framework.
They asked where I lived and then gave a short talk about the company. They didn't provide details about the team or the challenge I would face. The recruiter wasn't even able to turn on her camera, and she actually spoke EXTREMELY fast, like a YouTube video at 2.0 speed. I don't know if this is really how it's supposed to be, as a way to identify if you can handle the job or not.
