Engineer Interview Experience - Livonia, Michigan

Process

Longest interview process I have ever seen:

  • Telephonic interview with the Director (who approached me) and Manager, which lasted around 45 minutes, with technical and behavioral questions.
  • Onsite HR orientation at Lovonia, which lasted around 2 hours. This included a facility tour, review of the company, policies, and employee benefits. (At this point, I was thinking maybe they were ready to offer me?)
  • Then came the invitation for another all-day onsite interview, which I denied since I realized they did not value my time. (This was the deal-breaker.)

People in this company seem to be fairly inexperienced when it comes to the interview process (although they have been around since 2009).

When approaching a candidate, they need to realize the value of time, since some people are losing money by taking time off from their current jobs.
