I was contacted by a recruiter and scheduled for a phone screen interview.

I answered the interviewer's questions. However, I should mention that the interviewer hinted while discussing the idea and coding.

The code compiled and the test cases passed, as the interviewer clearly mentioned. But surprisingly, I received a formal rejection a day after.

One of the advantages of using a code environment during interviews is the judgment you have regarding your code implementation.

The coding interview process is stressful enough, as you need to come up with an idea and then implement it while talking to your interviewer in a short time.

But when you finalize a code which returns the expected results for given test cases, you have no expectation of hearing about a rejection.

I was really disappointed and will definitely never try this company again. I will share my story with all my colleagues who are looking for new positions and new grad friends, so they don't waste their time.

It seems they interviewed me as a shadow of another candidate.
