Process

Phone interview with the lead developer.

A couple of technical questions were asked, along with questions about projects on my resume. It was mostly about culture and fit.

Heard back almost immediately (possibly the same day) that they wanted to fly me out for an in-person interview. I was offered a choice of several dates.

In-person interview:

Arrived around noon and had lunch with the other interview candidates (all college hires). Some kind of VP gave a talk about the company's direction, etc., etc.

Taken to a conference room for a three-hour programming assignment (simulating a simple file system). They emphasized they were looking for readable code and evidence of thought about design and scalability. I didn't finish the exercise.

Four interviews with individuals or pairs of developers followed. Each interviewee was from a different kind of team (database, front-end, etc.) and asked questions specific to their work. The questions were almost all technical but not terribly difficult.

All the candidates and several developers went out to dinner afterward.

The recruiter called to let me know they would be extending an offer about ten days later. I received the official letter a few days after that.
