The character, culture, and quality of the individuals on the development teams at Salesforce are the best you'll ever find, willing to teach and mentor junior engineers to make the most of your potential.
I find the great team culture to be true in spite of, rather than because of, the fact that the leadership is slow to react to a very dynamic and growing company space and seems to be paralyzed to find or grow new leadership at the pace the company needs to grow.
Because of this, you have a lot of political jockeying at the top, with little regard for the individuals suffering from low-touch leadership.
A symptom of this behavior is the fact that the company is extremely top-heavy, with half of the "directors" in the company having few to no direct reports under them.
Additionally, good luck actually getting an effective interview at Salesforce, as the recruiting is the worst I've ever seen.
Again, this is actually not the fault of the recruiters, but the hiring manager's refusal to get out of the weeds and focus on their real job: building good teams.
Stop managing what your people are doing, and start putting all of your energy into putting the right people on your teams.
After submitting my resume to an internal referrer, I had a screening phone call with the VP of Software Engineering within a couple of weeks. A phone interview was set up with the hiring manager, then an onsite interview consisting of four sessions.
I was referred by a former colleague. The whole process was as smooth as it possibly could be. The Technical Recruiter was there for me throughout the entire process, and interviews were set up to accommodate my schedule. I received a list of people
I spoke on the phone and via email with a Salesforce recruiter. The interview was quickly set up due to incoming holidays. I agreed to interview Friday, and the interview loop was set up for Tuesday. The interview started at noon and ended at 3:30 PM
