Pros: Fair salary. The work environment was OK. It all boils down to management. I didn't have a manager, while some people had great managers. Very good employee compensation package. Free breakfast that consists of oatmeal only, and huge, great parties.

Cons: Long hours. Travel up to 25 - 50 %. Like I said, management was not good. I worked for a small start-up, Pliant Technologies (SDD engineering), that was purchased by SanDisk. Just a different mentality, I guess.

Pros: Work environment is awesome, with too much freedom to come and go. So you can do whatever you want to do, as there is no restriction. People are very friendly and helpful. Intranet of the company is extremely useful, as it contains a lot of info regarding the storage domain. So if you want to learn something new in this domain, just log in and start reading. You have access to almost everything, including the company's quarter meetings and presentations. So you can know anything you want to know about this company. Perks are also good.

Cons: There are staff engineers placed at every level of the organisation, which is destructive as they don't have any technical knowledge (or even if they have they never do any technical work) and they will manage the technical employees, which is not right. Lots and lots of meetings. Seriously sometimes you feel that you come to office just to attend unproductive meetings in the face of KT (Knowledge Transfer). Food is very bad. I don't know about the present situation, but at my time being a north Indian I used to detest the food there.

Pros: A growing company with the hot product in the market - flash memory products Some nice employee perks such as the International Festival Promotes a policy that respects employees of different cultures and backgrounds

Cons: Like all large tech corporations, there are many layers in the management structure, so it is very difficult to get promoted. A lot of company politics. Managers and executives only hire people in their own circle, thus a lot of infighting is ensured when the resources are limited. Shifting R&D and many engineering functions to Asia means that eventually many positions in the U.S. will be eliminated.
