The company has a unique market position. It's quite unlikely they'll get a real competitor any time soon.
Too many unskilled/unqualified employees.
Most software seems to be completely broken (see first point).
Most problems are solved by pure manpower instead of using some brainpower.
Everybody seems to be fine with delivering broken and far too complex products. There seems to be no motivation or competence to engineer really good products.
Get rid of as many self-developed tools, libraries, and servers as possible and replace them with open-source alternatives.
Limit developing your own software and concentrate on assembling and customizing third-party software instead.
This will lead to far better products than trying to engineer software in-house.
