At the beginning of the meeting, I made a couple of basic mistakes. I placed the microphone too close to the keyboard where I was typing my notes, so the other person could hear the keystrokes. I was also not directly looking at the camera because I had an external monitor. These were rookie mistakes, I know.
However, the interviewer became quite upset about this. She did not ask for a change nicely. She was completely out of sorts and literally asked, "Are you even interested in this call?"
I reacted and fixed both issues, but the interviewer continued to harass me until the end of the meeting, even though I fixed it and apologized very quickly.
Her predisposition seemed bad overall, as if she was just meeting an obligation to interview me because I was a referral. At the end of the meeting, I felt she was extremely aggressive towards me.
The first thing she said was basically, "You're not a good match because you don't have enough experience for this position, and we look for experienced people." But this is nonsense, as I was referred to this position.
It was a terrible, awkward experience. I had a good first impression of the company, but not anymore after this.
I didn't even get to the technical interview!
