The interview process followed this structure:
- Standard recruiter phone screen
- Technical coding round
- Final round
The recruiter was extremely helpful and provided as much information as possible to succeed. The final round included a bug bash, which I found very confusing.

You're given a codebase and you have to find bugs using tests and attempt to resolve them.

Pros: - Excellent leadership, thoughtful, transparent, and deliberate.
- Growing fast – lots of interesting challenges and plenty of untapped business opportunities.
- My manager is excellent; they care about supporting and leveling up everyone.
- People work hard, but the culture is one of "we're all on the same team"; no unnecessary pressure or breathing down necks.
- Really thoughtful expansion; the hiring bar remains high, with a big emphasis on supporting remote employees.
Cons: - Ruby
- Because we deal with people's money, any outside tech we use needs to go through a long security review process. Often, we end up building things ourselves that already exist as external products because it's easier than getting them approved.

Pros: Stripe is a thoughtful company that cares a lot about building high-quality products, its customers, and its employees. For the most part, teams are rowing in the same direction to accomplish these goals, and the company does a solid job of broadcasting the importance of these things from the top levels.
Cons: However, while all this is true, it still can feel like at times Stripe isn't quite sure how to get there. So it knows what it wants, but people and teams can feel a lot of churn along the way. This friction is to be expected with growth, but at times it gives the feeling of a slight lack of focus.
