I was recommended through a friend and emailed the recruiter.

Then, I was set up with a phone screening with a software engineering lead and was asked very basic questions. They were mainly behavioral questions with a smattering of technical questions.

I really thought I did well, but I got a rejection letter the day after.

Even with Android experience under my belt, I really don't know what they expect from interns to even consider them.
