Pros: A startup kind of vibe where trust is an integral part of everyday life. International coworkers, flexibility to work from home, and a lot of opportunities to grow. Switching to another role can be done if you want to grow in another field. There's always someone to help you in any aspect. A very nice office in a beautiful city. They helped us go through the pandemic with some surprises delivered to our homes. New SEO seems confident; it's the future of the company. They have made a lot of changes in one year already.

Cons: - Salary could be a little bit higher. This is a reason why many leave. But also, a lot of people disregard this, as Trivago gives a lot of benefits and the working atmosphere is never stressful. - Currently, the travel sector is struggling with the pandemic, but let's hope this is just temporary. - The pandemic again ruined our lovely social events, which we all at Trivago look forward to. - Innovation has a lot of room for improvement. I believe we can do much more with the intelligent people we have in the company.

Pros: I invested time and effort thinking I was moving forward, yet it often felt like I was standing still, or even falling behind. I used to be the smartest kid in the room. Somewhere along the way, I began questioning what happened to that version of me. Was I misled earlier in life about how merit works, or am I only realizing now how complex and discouraging corporate environments can be? Or am I being consistently placed into staying a "low three" (an internal label), no matter how much effort I put in?

Cons: In my experience, formal education and degrees didn't seem to carry much weight when it came to recognition or compensation. At times, it felt like mentioning academic achievements was subtly discouraged rather than valued, especially when discussing growth or pay. Leadership has members with no university degree. Senior leadership frequently highlighted non-traditional career paths and success stories. At the same time, employees with formal academic backgrounds often felt that credentials were not consistently recognized or rewarded. I also experienced what felt like a shift away from transparent, large-scale organizational changes toward individual "mutual agreement" exits. While this may be standard practice in some contexts, it made it difficult to understand the true scope of workforce changes from the outside.

Pros: Friendly culture. Open discussions. Challenging work. Team events. Open Source Friendly (Github; Sponsoring conferences). Free fruits and drinks. Fancy office. Free sports.

Cons: An open-plan office can be loud.
