Process
I was referred by an internal employee.
We started with a recruiter phone screen, followed by a code challenge.
After the code challenge, I was scheduled to talk with hiring managers from two different engineering teams, and I decided to go with the Growth team.
After the hiring manager screen, I was scheduled for an onsite interview. The onsite interview consisted of four technical sessions and one manager wrap-up. Everyone was nice, and the questions were interesting as well.

Pros: - Get to work on and solve some of the toughest engineering challenges.
- Get to work with one of the best engineering teams on the planet.
- Ample growth opportunities with respect to learning and career advancement.
- Great benefits. Excellent parental leave policy, the best I have seen.
- Spectacular office!
Cons: High uncertainty and competition in the ride-hailing industry.

Pros: Change the world. They're fundamentally changing the way people interact with the world, bridging the digital with the "real world". It's an amazing opportunity to be a part of.
Cons: The company is in a complex market, and tech journalists often don't understand the nuance.
It could be frustrating to read a litany of seemingly negative articles because the journalists don't understand the actual laws or issues. That's probably a downside to every company that's rapidly changing the world.
People who don't work full-time in that specific industry probably don't actually understand the issues in the industry.
