I received a referral from my friend in April 2015. Two weeks later, I had a phone interview with Uber. The interviewer was nice.
It took me some time to understand the question, but he was kind enough to explain it to me.

Little transparency from managers

Pros: Good benefits, good salary, and great engineers.
Cons: Managers are not transparent. For the whole duration of my internship, I got the feedback that I was doing great and my project was progressing well.
At the end, I found that I was given "at the bar" even when I was receiving "outstanding" before. I discussed this with the engineers, and they also mentioned that I did great.
There is very little transparency from managers (most are from Amazon).

Pros: You learn a lot there.
Many languages and technologies.
Cons: Terrible culture. They only care about numbers, and your review is relative to your coworkers.
