The interview had two parts: first, a high-level technical screening over the phone, and second, an onsite interview with all relevant parties.
The phone interview was a great way to show my knowledge of basic concepts. Because there was no live coding, the anxiety over things like programming language differences did not get in the way of the conversation (I discussed patterns I would use in JavaScript, for example, even though the questions were asked by a back-end developer and addressed more classical programming problems).
The onsite was much more thorough, with whiteboard coding and questions about past experience and current interests.
The interview parts had two or three interviewers each.
