Walmart offers some of the best availability around. While the hours received vary, the schedule you have can be customized to almost anything you might require or need.
In my experience, the middle management inside the stores have been great and accommodating.
The primary downside to working as a TA for the front end of almost any big-box retail store has to be the customers. If you are not a people person or are not able to deal with upset people, this is not the job for you.
The only complaint I may have about the store's capabilities to enable you to do your job may be figuring out where items go after customers no longer want them.
As an aside, you are also expected to work quickly, as there are lines to be dealt with.
Better inspection of equipment and more speedy relay of equipment malfunctions could be in order. Though it may not be at the store manager's ability or disposal, the internal flow of items that go back to the floor could use some tweaking, as a lot of loss is incurred by items being stuck in a loop of being removed from the shelves, ending up in the "go back" totes, and returning to the shelves without a tag again.
