Software Engineer Intern - Boston HQ, MA Interview Experience

Process

Applied when they visited my university for the career fair.

Had a Skype interview back to back with two software engineers from the same team. The first interviewer asked some behavioral questions, logical puzzles, and technical topics like algorithms and data structures. The second interviewer asked pure technical questions, ranging from web development to databases. I was also asked to code a program to convert any integer from 0-999 into an English string, like you see on bank checks.

Both interviewers were very friendly and approachable, and they helped out when I felt stuck on a question. They were interested in my thought process, not necessarily whether I cracked every question.

I have yet to receive an offer from them. I just finished the interview today and will update this once I get a response.

Questions

I had not revised graph algorithms before this interview, so I kind of messed up a question on how to find a cycle in an undirected graph. However, I got through it with the interviewer's help.

I was not expecting logical puzzles, but I managed to solve them nonetheless.

Was this helpful?
