Work-life balance was good. There were a lot of snacks. The office location is great, and the office is nice.
People have terrible and unjustified egos. Everyone's had too much of their own Kool-Aid and thinks they're amazing engineers on par with Google, etc. When in reality, the company is full of sub-par engineers (which is apparent by how little they pay their engineers). They claim to be a meritocracy, but questioning the status quo is never respected and works more like a high school clique.
Invest more in your engineers, fire the incompetent ones, reduce the size of engineering, and hire better (more expensive) engineers.
