HR gave me a 30-minute call to know my basic background and interests. They checked my personal interests, graduate and OPT time, and salary expectation. HR was very nice, but there was no headcount available.

As an applicant, the Wayfair software engineer interview felt structured and fast-paced. It focused on algorithms, SQL, system design, and culture fit, balancing technical depth with product thinking and collaboration. It was an average process.

Interviewers were nice and asked all good technical questions. However, I was lowballed on the compensation offer, and they did not follow through on their promises made before the interview process. I would not recommend spending time interviewing
