Pros

You will learn a lot, as there is a sword hanging over your head every time. Having said that, it creates an environment of continuous anxiety.

Cons
  1. Hire and fire culture - More than 12 people from a batch of 30 people in Wayfair Labs were fired within 10 months. Those who survived looked stressed and feared for their jobs all the time.
  2. Continuous evaluation/micromanagement of work until they let you go.
  3. Stressful, unfriendly environment; everyone looks stressed, and employees always work overtime, with no work-life balance.
  4. Low pay: ~80k base salary, not enough to sustain in an expensive city like Boston. Other companies pay much better.
  5. No appreciation of work.
  6. No work visa sponsorship initially; they fire you before the visa sponsorship time comes.
  7. Managers do not have a personal relationship with employees; racist environment. DO NOT join.
Advice to Management

Treat your employees with appreciation; maybe they will 'perform' better.
