Standard software interview process with nice and experienced software engineers. It includes a little more system design questions than in other Moscow companies.
- Phone interview.
- Onsite interviews (4 or 5):
- Algorithms
- Coding on laptop
- C++
- Math or system design
- Offer negotiations.
The HR process can be a little slow but is acceptable.

Pros: The overall best engineering culture you can find in a large company in Russia.
There are a lot of different projects you can participate in.
There is an ability to earn some RSU.
Cons: * A lot of homegrown tools.
* Constant race to deliver new products, quantity over quality.
* A lot of developing areas, but advertisement still remains the main source of company income.

Pros: Still has startup spirit. Excellent atmosphere. Software engineers are the main part of Yandex, so everybody wants you to be happy in your workplace. There are challenging tasks in some parts of Yandex.
Cons: Yandex tries to become a corporation. Everybody tries to think about improvement metrics, not actual work. Your mark at performance review depends on your team very much.
