I had two interviews before being rejected. Unfortunately, the rejection explicitly mentions they are unable to provide feedback on my candidacy.
The first interview was with a recruiter (45 minutes). I was asked general questions about my resume, and they explained more about the team and the role.
The second interview was a job fit interview with a hiring manager (60 minutes). The questions focused on how I handle vague requirements, how I do communications, etc.
I did not make it to the next phase, where my technical skills would have been assessed.
Both interviewers used standard questions they read out and took notes during the interview. The interview was done on Zoom.
The process was fast: I was invited for the first interview on the same day I applied on the website. After the first interview, I got the next invitation immediately, and I received my rejection in less than 24 hours after the last interview.
This was my first "job fit" interview ever, and I assume I was not able to answer the questions in a relevant way. I also might have been rejected because of a lack of experience in companies of the size of Zapier.
Can you explain a time when you worked on a project where the requirements were not clear? How did you tackle this?
