Description For Program Manager Quality Engineering

Join Airbnb's BizTech Organization as a Program Manager in Quality Engineering, where you'll be part of a diverse, global team of ~150 professionals spread across the USA, Canada, Ireland, India, China, and beyond. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the quality assurance landscape of one of the world's leading hospitality platforms.

As a Quality Program Manager, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring Airbnb's software quality, managing large-scale programs and projects within the QA organization. You'll work in a dynamic environment where you'll partner with business stakeholders to deliver the best experience to Airbnb's community of hosts and guests.

The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on program management, requiring you to balance multiple priorities while driving the adoption of automated testing practices. You'll be responsible for planning and executing QA team priorities, working closely with QA leadership to define and implement strategic initiatives, and ensuring consistent quality across all projects.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $125,000 to $157,000 USD, plus additional benefits including equity, bonus potential, and Employee Travel Credits. The role is remote-eligible within the United States, with occasional opportunities to work from Airbnb offices or attend offsites.

Responsibilities For Program Manager Quality Engineering

  • Be accountable for planning and execution of the QA team's priorities
  • Work with QA leadership to define, launch, and execute multiple strategic and operational initiatives
  • Ensure quality is consistent across all projects
  • Drive the adoption of automated testing
  • Communicate program status and progress to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Manage change by influencing and communicating with key stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities and advocate for product improvements
  • Coordinate and collaborate with 3rd party vendors and QA counterparts
  • Regularly assess project risks and opportunities

Requirements For Program Manager Quality Engineering

  • 10+ years of program management experience, with a proven track record of quality delivery
  • Experience with partnering with Quality Engineering teams to help advance test automation
  • Strong people leadership skills, including hiring, performance management, career development
  • Proactive communication and interpersonal skills; strong stakeholder management
  • Experience using collaborative project management tools and processes (JIRA, Asana, Smartsheets, Google docs, scrum, agile)
  • Passion for building and delivering high quality software
