Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Relevance Research

Airbnb is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer for their Relevance Research team. You'll join the Airbnb Relevance team, which is responsible for personalization and intelligence platforms supporting millions of guests and hosts worldwide. As a senior technical contributor, you'll lead the architecture and design of the Relevance Intelligence Platform product, solving broad technical challenges. Key responsibilities include defining technical architecture, architecting large-scale AI/ML systems, influencing the organization's approach to Intelligence Platforms, working with structured and unstructured data, performing design and code reviews, and championing best AI/ML engineering practices. You'll collaborate with cross-functional partners, develop and operate ML models at scale, and work on projects like feature platforms, model interpretability, and concept drift detection. This role requires hands-on coding and contribution to the engineering team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 15 years of technical experience in Applied Machine Learning
• Strong programming skills (Scala/Python/Java/C++)
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark, Kafka
• Deep understanding of Machine Learning best practices and algorithms
• Experience with test-driven development and A/B testing
