Staff Software Engineer, Supply Platform

Airbnb, a global hospitality platform that has facilitated over 2 billion guest arrivals worldwide, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Supply Platform team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the engineering architecture of tooling and operations systems that power Airbnb's supply-side operations across all lines of business.

The Supply Platform team is responsible for building the foundation that enables Airbnb to onboard and manage high-quality supply worldwide. As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing capabilities that optimize human operations, creating software platforms to model operations, and implementing AI solutions to simplify and scale systems.

Your impact will be significant as you take on the responsibility of both developing new systems and maintaining existing platforms. The role requires innovative thinking in designing scalable and flexible solutions that can adapt to the dynamic needs of the business. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, operations, legal, and design, while also having the opportunity to mentor other engineers and champion best practices.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $204,000 to $255,000 USD, plus potential bonus, equity, and unique benefits like Employee Travel Credits. This is a remote-eligible position within the United States, with occasional requirements for office visits or offsites as needed.

The ideal candidate brings over 9 years of industry experience, strong expertise in backend development (particularly with languages like Java or C++), and a proven track record of building high-scale distributed systems. You should be passionate about architectural design, comfortable with complex technical challenges, and skilled at collaborating across teams to drive results.
