Staff Web Engineer, Digital Accessibility

Airbnb is seeking a Staff Web Engineer specializing in Digital Accessibility to join their UI Foundation team. This role presents a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on Airbnb's digital accessibility initiatives, affecting millions of users worldwide. As part of the team that maintains Airbnb's design system and UI tooling, you'll be instrumental in developing solutions that create more inclusive user experiences.

The position involves both hands-on development and leadership responsibilities, working closely with Product Engineering, QA, Design, and Product Marketing teams. You'll be involved throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial concept to final launch. The role requires deep expertise in web technologies, accessibility standards, and assistive technologies, combined with strong leadership and communication skills.

Key focus areas include building technical solutions for scaling accessibility practices, developing and implementing tooling, leading training initiatives, and mentoring other engineers. You'll work on projects that have been featured in technical publications, such as text resizing improvements and mobile app accessibility enhancements.

The position offers competitive compensation ($204,000 - $255,000), along with benefits including equity, bonuses, and Employee Travel Credits. While the role is remote-eligible within the US, it may require occasional office visits or offsite attendance.
