Here at Amazon, we embrace our differences and are committed to furthering our culture of diversity and inclusion. We're seeking an outstanding engineer to support acoustic analysis, anechoic chamber, and noise testing for our Prime Air Drone Vehicle Design and Test team within Flight Sciences.
You'll be responsible for:
- Owning, building, and implementing indoor and outdoor noise testing of propellers and drone vehicle designs
- Contributing to certification and regulatory processes for launching sites and expanding operations
- Exploring new and novel propeller and drone vehicle designs
- Working closely with all vehicle subsystem teams to ensure integrated designs meeting performance, reliability, manufacturing, and cost requirements
Your work will directly support the Office of the Chief Program Engineer. You'll be part of the Flight Sciences Vehicle Design & Test organization, which includes teams spanning various disciplines such as Aerodynamics, Performance, Stability & Control, Configuration & Spatial Integration, Loads, Structures, Mass Properties, Multi-disciplinary Optimization (MDO), Wind Tunnel Testing, Noise Testing, Flight Test Instrumentation, and Rapid Prototyping.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics with 5+ years of experience or equivalent
- Experience with acoustic and exterior noise testing for air vehicles or rotorcraft
- Hands-on experience designing, building, or operating acoustics test systems
- Experience designing and building mechanical and electrical systems, test models, and test fixtures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics or equivalent
- 3+ years experience in acoustic design, analysis, and/or testing for air vehicles and/or propellers (preferably electric propulsion vehicles)
- Experience working through FAA or EASA certification processes
- Wind tunnel testing experience
- Propeller/rotor design, analysis, and testing experience
- Experience using acoustic analysis and noise modeling tools
- Vehicle level design intuition and ability to operate & analyze at the system-of-systems level
Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including equity, sign-on payments, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year to $185,000/year, depending on the geographic market and job-related factors.
