Description For Application Engineer, Sapien

Join Amazon's Retail Business Services (RBS) team as an Application Engineer supporting Amazon's worldwide retail business growth. RBS focuses on three core areas: Selection (sourcing and enriching ASINs), Defect Elimination (resolving supply chain issues), and operational process support. You'll be part of a team that develops automation leveraging Machine/Deep Learning to scale complex tasks.

As an Application Engineer, you'll work at the intersection of technical support and development, solving critical business needs through existing applications while building scalable solutions. The role offers diverse opportunities - whether you excel in deep domain expertise, incident management, process improvement, or focused development work.

You'll be responsible for maintaining service health, implementing solutions, and working closely with business teams to translate their needs into technical deliverables. The position involves creating automation scripts, monitoring systems, and handling operational requests. On-call support is a key responsibility, where you'll tackle infrastructure issues and bug fixes.

The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong problem-solving abilities. You'll work in an environment that values continuous learning, customer focus, and technical excellence. The role offers exposure to distributed systems, web services, and enterprise-scale applications while working with a team that embraces Amazon's "Work Hard. Have Fun. Make History" philosophy.

Benefits include the opportunity to work on systems that impact millions of customers, collaboration with talented engineers, and the chance to shape the future of retail technology. Join us in building solutions that ensure Amazon's catalog remains complete, correct, and comprehensive for an outstanding customer shopping experience.
