Description For Business Intelligence Engineer I, Long Term Planning

Amazon's Supply Chain, Transportation Planning & Operational Excellence (EU STEP) team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer I for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is crucial in optimizing the end-to-end flow of goods from vendors to customers across Europe. As a BIE, you'll create products that enhance automation and optimization of transportation systems, working with large-scale data solutions that impact Amazon's EU global network.

The position combines technical expertise in data engineering with business intelligence, requiring proficiency in SQL, Python, and AWS services. You'll be responsible for developing automated tools, analyzing historical data, and implementing large-scale data solutions that influence mid and long-term strategic planning.

This is an excellent opportunity for a data professional to work with complex logistics systems at scale. You'll collaborate with multiple teams, lead design reviews, and contribute to architectural strategies. Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer I, Long Term Planning

  • Design and develop tools to automate standardized processes
  • Develop relationships with internal and external partner teams
  • Lead design, implementation, and delivery of large-scale data solutions
  • Analyze historical data to identify trends and support decision making
  • Improve existing methodologies by developing new data sources
  • Conduct written and verbal presentations to share insights
  • Collaborate with multiple teams and have cross-team impact
  • Research and benchmark technology against competing software
  • Mentor and educate the BIE community on trends and best practices

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer I, Long Term Planning

Python
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse
  • Scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL
  • Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics
  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries
