Description For BigData Cloud Support Engineer (Distributed Processing), Support Engineering

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a BigData Cloud Support Engineer to join their Support Engineering team. This role is crucial in helping customers succeed with AWS's cloud technologies, particularly in the Big Data and distributed processing space. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you'll work with hadoop ecosystem components including Apache Spark, Hive, Presto, and others, providing expert support via multiple channels.

The position requires strong technical expertise in Hadoop administration and troubleshooting, combined with solid understanding of Linux systems and networking concepts. You'll be part of AWS Support Engineering, a customer-facing global organization operating on a follow-the-sun model, supporting some of the world's most innovative companies.

  • Support AWS services that leverage data and produce business insights
  • Interact with customers via email, chat or phone
  • Help customers use and integrate Big Data services
  • Develop Subject Matter Expertise in one or more services
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide support services

  • Work on improving operational efficiency

Requirements For BigData Cloud Support Engineer (Distributed Processing), Support Engineering

  • 1+ years of software development, or 1+ years of technical support experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Knowledge in Hadoop Administration and troubleshooting
  • Good understanding of Linux and Networking concepts
  • Understanding of file formats, networking protocols, JVM concepts
  • Intermediate programming/scripting skills in Java or Python
