Data Center Engineering Operations - Chief Engineer, DCC Communities

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer (CE) to join their Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This role is crucial in maintaining the critical physical infrastructure supporting AWS. The CE is responsible for ensuring 100% availability of the data center's MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and leading the DCEO Engineering Team
• Establishing performance benchmarks and conducting analysis on facility operations
• Overseeing operations of critical systems (switchgear, generators, UPS, chillers, etc.)
• Data center capacity planning and reporting
• Coordinating with IT managers and business leaders on projects and capacity management
• Responding to emergency calls as a second-level escalation point

The ideal candidate will have:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data center or critical environments
• 4+ years of Facilities Management Experience

Preferred qualifications include:

• Associates or Bachelors in applicable engineering field
• Operating engineering licenses (DC II, DC III, or equivalent)
• Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License
• CFC license
• NFPA 70E certification
