Description For Data Engineer, DSP Analytics

Amazon Last Mile DSP is seeking an extraordinary Data Engineer to join the DSP Analytics team. This role will play a key part in providing end-to-end engineering solutions to support key business initiatives related to Insurance products and Insurance claims. The ideal candidate should be passionate about technologies, strongly biased to go deep to find insights and build scalable analytical platforms, relentless in ensuring quality and reliability, and comfortable communicating with different levels of leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing data products, infrastructure and data pipelines leveraging AWS services (such as Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, Lambda etc.) and internal Amazon tools.
  • Improving existing solutions and creating next-generation Data Architecture to enhance scale, quality, timeliness, coverage, monitoring and security.
  • Developing new data models and end-to-end data pipelines.
  • Leading design reviews for other Data Engineers and participating in design reviews of related tech products.
  • Providing technical and thought leadership for Data Engineering and Business Intelligence within the organization.
  • Creating and implementing Data Governance processes for mitigating privacy and security risks.

The DSP Analytics team is part of the core Amazon DSP business intelligence group, with a vision to enable data, insights, and science-driven decision-making. The team is relatively new, without legacy operational burdens, and believes in promoting and using ideas to disrupt the status quo.

Requirements For Data Engineer, DSP Analytics

Java
Python
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing
  • Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
  • Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
