Description For Data Engineer II, RISC

Amazon Regulatory Intelligence Safety and Risk (RISC) team is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with solid engineering skills and machine learning background (MLOps) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large scale robust data pipelines and infrastructure to empower our machine learning, data science and analytics initiatives. You will collaborate closely with Applied Scientists, Machine Learning Scientists, and business stakeholders to understand their requirements and support cutting-edge AI/ML solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for MLOps using AWS technologies.
  2. Automate infrastructure deployment and maintenance processes.
  3. Develop optimized data models, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouses.
  4. Collaborate with Applied Scientists and ML Scientists to provide scalable data solutions.
  5. Monitor, optimize, and enhance data pipelines and infrastructure.
  6. Implement data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  7. Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
  8. Stay updated with emerging MLOps technologies and trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics or related field
  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with ML and data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and professional software engineering practices

Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS technologies, non-relational databases, advanced ML system design, and proficiency in modern programming languages.

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including base pay ranging from $118,900 to $205,600 per year depending on the geographic market, as well as equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive benefits.
