Data Engineer II, RISC

Amazon Regulatory Intelligence Safety and Risk (RISC) team is seeking an experienced Data Engineer II to join their team. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining large-scale robust data pipelines and infrastructure to empower machine learning, data science, and analytics initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

1. Designing and building scalable data pipelines using AWS technologies like Lambda, Glue, EMR/Spark, Step Functions, Airflow, DynamoDB, and AWS Batch.
2. Automating infrastructure deployment and maintenance processes using AWS services and scripting languages.
3. Developing optimized data models and ETL/ELT processes using S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, and Lake Formation.
4. Collaborating with Applied Scientists and Machine Learning Scientists to provide scalable data solutions.
5. Implementing data governance, security, and compliance standards.
6. Mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices in data engineering and MLOps.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, machine learning operations (MLOps), and AWS technologies. They should be able to work closely with cross-functional teams and stay updated with emerging MLOps technologies and trends.
