You'll work on state-of-the-art computer vision and deep learning systems that power Amazon's checkout-free shopping experience. The technology stack includes computer vision, sensor fusion, deep learning, and foundation models.
As a Machine Learning Engineer II, you'll be responsible for:
- Developing and optimizing large-scale distributed training systems for multi-modal foundation models
- Collaborating with Applied Scientists to scale machine learning models and optimize GPU utilization
- Implementing sophisticated training workflows including kernel fusion, mixed-precision training, and massive parallelization
- Building robust monitoring and debugging tools for large GPU clusters
- Contributing to the architecture and best practices that will shape the future of JWO at Amazon

Requirements For Machine Learning Engineer II, AWS Just-Walk-Out Science Team
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience
- Proficient in Python or related language
- Hands-on model training experience in PyTorch and deep learning frameworks
- Familiar with modern visual-language models and multi-modal AI systems
