Mechanical Engineer, Avionics, Avionics - Mechanical

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a background in design and analysis of Avionics mechanical enclosures for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) on satellite systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Mechanical design and layout trades contributing to overall system architecture configuration selection
• Generate detailed designs with 3D CAD assemblies/components and 2D drawings
• Conduct static, dynamic, and modal structural analysis
• Deliver efficient designs capable of high volume production throughput
• Documentation and presentation of materials for technical design reviews
• Design and support test campaigns for space hardware

This is a hands-on role for a highly collaborative individual that combines technical and analytical capabilities to convert analytic trade studies to a qualified physical design, while optimizing for high volume production and meeting cross-discipline requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience with prototyping and implementation

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
• Experience with NX and Teamcenter

The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in the lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a total compensation package that may include equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits.
