AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Fiber Engineer to join their team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial in maintaining the backbone of AWS's cloud services, working with fiber optic infrastructure using GIS and associated tools.   • Design fiber solutions and maintain records for fiber optic infrastructure using GIS tools
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders
  • Create engineering design and documents, single line drawings, cable routing, and splicing work packages
  • Ingest and audit GIS data for completeness and accuracy
  • Optimize processes to improve efficiency and delivery
  • Travel 10% of the time

Linux
  • BS or MS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in an IT-related field
  • 2+ years experience working in GIS Systems
  • 2+ years experience in project/program management
  • 2+ years of data, inventory, or records management
  • Experience using GE Smallworld in GIS applications (preferred)
