Description For Regional Safety Engineer, Data Center Health and Safety

Join the world class safety culture at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and be part of supporting the largest cloud computing infrastructure team as a Regional Safety Engineer in the Northern Virginia, USA region. As a Regional Safety Engineer, you will lead the Health and Safety function of your assigned area. You will be responsible for advancing safety culture and improving the health and safety of our data centers, by protecting our employees through safety incident prevention, investigation, and mitigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily interactions with our customers delivering health and safety leadership and guidance
  • Implement health and safety standards, policies and practices
  • Assist with industrial hygiene and ergonomics assessments
  • Conduct health and safety audits of data centers and active construction sites
  • Ensure compliance and implementation of global health and safety programs
  • Develop health and safety plans for on-site emergencies, business continuity, and other unique events
  • Maintain adequate safety record keeping and data integrity
  • Perform data trend analysis to present to cluster leadership
  • Consult and partner with compliance and legal teams
  • Identify risks and partner with Operations to permanently mitigate them

Responsibilities For Regional Safety Engineer, Data Center Health and Safety

Requirements For Regional Safety Engineer, Data Center Health and Safety

  • Minimum four year college degree in a health and safety, physical science, related field or equivalent experience in health and safety management
  • 2 or more years with a degree, or 4 or more years without a degree of field health and safety experience in general industry or construction
  • 1 or more years of experience designing, revising, and implementing health and safety processes and procedural documentation
