Description For Robotics Control Engineer, Amazon Robotics

Do you want to create worldwide impact in robotics while solving challenges at the edge of robotics research? Our team in Amazon Robotics builds high-performance, real-time robotic systems that can perceive, learn, and act intelligently alongside humans - at Amazon scale. Our mission is to enable robots to interact safely, efficiently, and fluently with the clutter and uncertainty of real-world fulfillment centers. Our solutions enable robots to learn from their own experiences, from each other, and from humans to build intelligence that feeds itself.

We are seeking an experienced Robotics Software Engineer to join our Motion Planning and Control team. In this role, you will leverage your experience and insights gained from delivering systems to help lead us in developing products that are both innovative and scalable. Working with a world-class team of experts in motion planning, control theory, computer vision, machine learning, and robotic hardware design, you will apply the latest research trends to tackle complex real-world challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and improving system controls architecture
  • Developing controls code using structured text on Codesys platforms
  • Implementing system optimizations
  • Collaborating with hardware and software engineering teams
  • Launching, testing, and debugging systems in lab and field environments
  • Developing tools for system monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Contributing to value engineering of electrical and controls hardware components

Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, parental leave options, PTO, and a 401(k) plan. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year to $223,600/year, depending on the geographic market and other factors.

If you're passionate about robotics and want to make an impact on a global scale, we encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet every qualification exactly. Amazon values diversity and unique perspectives.
