AWS Managed Services (AMS) Security is seeking passionate and team-oriented Security Engineers to ensure customer security. The ideal candidates can navigate ambiguity, identify suspicious activity, lead security responses, and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying, evaluating, and communicating security threats, risks, and vulnerabilities
- Proposing remediation for security issues
- Contributing to security automation and posture improvements
- Monitoring AWS detective controls like Amazon GuardDuty and Amazon Macie
- Developing processes to enhance security response effectiveness
- Providing periodic on-call support, including weekends
As a Security Engineer, you'll monitor networks and systems, perform triage for security alerts, document suspicious activity, and report issues. You'll work with security engineers and partner teams on threat detection and incident response, leveraging AWS technologies to protect customers at scale. Continuous learning about new technologies and procedures is essential.
The AMS team offers 24/7 threat monitoring, investigation, and response for customer AWS environments. They enhance existing security capabilities, support security monitoring for all native AWS services, and implement vendor-agnostic controls. The team leverages data on common attack techniques to improve detective controls and incident response, while building auto-remediation capabilities to minimize disruption to customer workloads.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer, AWS Managed Services
- Identify, evaluate and communicate security threats, risks and vulnerabilities
- Propose recommended remediation for security issues
- Contribute to the development of security automation and security posture improvements
- Track and report on the effectiveness of AWS detective controls

Requirements For Security Engineer, AWS Managed Services
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++
- 3+ years performing security investigations, detection engineering, and/or security incident response
- Knowledge of adversary techniques, tactics, and common methods to identify and disrupt the attack lifecycle
