Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronic devices. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com. Since then, we have worked to produce hardware and software for Fire tablets, Kindle Oasis, Amazon Fire TV, and Amazon Echo.

As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for working with US and regional teams, closely monitoring and driving packaging engineering initiatives and processes from concept through mass production. You will be an integral part of executing packaging build strategies, including DFM innovation, new product development, execution efficiency, and best practice. You will be a critical escalation path for packaging process issues and work closely with China and US leadership teams to ensure cross-functional collaboration is effective.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, analyzing, and documenting consumer-facing packaging components and assemblies
• Conducting tests and engineering studies to validate packaging robustness and performance
• Reviewing and developing processes, automation opportunities, and fixtures with manufacturers and suppliers
• Bringing clarity and simplicity to complex packaging challenges
• Traveling domestically and internationally to collaborate with supplier sites

The role requires expertise in corrugated and paperboard packaging design, molded pulp packaging design, packaging adhesives, sustainability and recyclable packaging systems, packaging process and fixture development, and print decoration and treatments. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills are essential, along with the ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $128,600 to $213,600 per year, depending on location and experience. Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package and values diversity in the workplace.
