Description For Software Development Engineer, Amazon

Join Amazon's Navigation Experience (NavX) team to innovate on the most highly visible feature across Amazon websites and apps. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll build low latency, highly resilient distributed systems serving billions of views daily. The role focuses on developing the navigational experience that helps customers find what they need through search and browse actions. You'll work on key components like the Hamburger Menu, Navigation Chrome, and Bottom Tabs across all form factors.

The NavX team is responsible for navigation across all Amazon retail platforms, handling tens of thousands of transactions per second. You'll work in an agile environment with continuous deployment, building systems that impact hundreds of millions of customers worldwide. The role requires excellent technical design, problem-solving, and communication skills, plus the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

You'll be part of a diverse, intellectually curious team that values innovation and customer-centric thinking. The position offers opportunities to mentor others, lead technical designs, and shape the architecture of critical systems. You'll work on the LinkTree platform, enabling partners to specify navigation hierarchies, and help create seamless shopping experiences through Store Modes, Me Tab, and Strategic Subnav features.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a passion for customer experience, bringing fresh perspectives to navigation challenges.
