Would you like to work on one of the world's largest transactional distributed systems? Amazon's Tax Services team is seeking software engineers to work on mission-critical systems under extreme loads. We are responsible for the tax calculation platform, providing core services that calculate accurate transactional taxes (sales tax and VAT) for Amazon's global operations.

Our team manages hundreds of millions of records and responds to millions of service requests per minute. We stay on top of complex and ever-changing global tax rates and laws, ensuring calculations are correct and quick. This role offers the opportunity to work with customers and peers from across Amazon's business on new features.

The ideal candidate will contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, and operations. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
