Description For Software Development Engineer, Amazon Monitoring and Observability

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

The CloudWatch Logs team builds and manages some of the largest logging systems in the world. CloudWatch Logs allows AWS users to ingest their application and AWS logs in a highly scalable, durable, and reliable service for enterprise scale; find and analyze the right log data to solve operational problems; generate metrics and alarms from their log events; or send log data to other downstream systems.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Work on / lead projects that drive software of large-scale control and planes with Amazon proprietary technologies.
  • Shape the future of our logging services and positively affect our customers.
  • Improve the performance of our service in distributed areas and deliver features to customers to better use our product.
  • Influence the broader cloud strategy for Amazon as part of the AWS organization.

This is a full-stack development position, leaning towards back-end work. You'll have the opportunity to work on critical monitoring services that impact every single AWS customer, both internally and externally.

AWS values diverse experiences and encourages candidates to apply even if they don't meet all preferred qualifications. The company offers ongoing events and learning experiences, including Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences, to foster a culture of inclusion.

Work-life harmony is valued at AWS, with flexibility as part of the working culture to ensure success both at work and at home.
