AWS Alameda is shaping the future of how Control Planes for AWS Services will be offered. The Alameda team builds innovative and secure technologies on a massive scale that manage the control planes for AWS services, keeping them secure and scalable for customers. As a software development engineer on this team, you will leverage modern technologies and AWS services to empower AWS service teams to be more productive.

AWS Alameda centralizes the work of creating, maintaining, and improving Control Planes, saving each AWS team significant development effort and cost. It automates the creation and maintenance of infrastructure and software for both the Control Plane and Data Plane of newly managed services. Alameda offers building blocks that fully abstract single functionalities as managed services, which can be extended to offer custom business logic for specific AWS Services. It provides the full control plane for AWS Services by allowing seamless composition of building blocks that work together to provide a complete managed AWS service experience.

The team is looking for world-class software developers who can deliver software solutions that solve business problems and delight customers with efficiency and productivity gains. Ideal candidates should have development experience with technologies like AWS, Java, TypeScript, CDK, and DynamoDB.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Control Plane software for AWS services
• Leverage modern technologies and AWS services to improve productivity
• Create and maintain infrastructure and software for Control Plane and Data Plane
• Design and implement building blocks for managed services
• Collaborate with other AWS teams to integrate Alameda solutions

Requirements:

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
• Experience with design patterns, reliability, and scaling of new and existing systems
• Proficiency in at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• Experience with coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
