Software Development Engineer, EC2 Spot

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to consistently released new product innovations. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS.

The EC2 Spot team is looking for an engineer passionate about solving complex problems. EC2 Spot is a cost-effective compute solution offering up to 90% discount on compute capacity. The team manages capacity, allocation strategies, and dynamic pricing backed by prediction algorithms. They aim to increase compute capacity utilization while meeting customer demand and reducing costs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing software solutions for complex engineering problems
• Maintaining high standards of quality and performance
• Collaborating with other engineers and AWS teams
• Planning, executing, and delivering on roadmap projects
• Operating a high-throughput, large-scale distributed system
• Driving operational excellence
